What are playpens?
Playpens are generally used by parents to keep their children safe and away from harm. It is a type of furniture used for this purpose. There are various types of playpens available but the traditional ones were made of wood. This generally had a rectangular platform where the child can be made to sit. These traditional playpens were square in shape and have four vertical bars on which the playpen stands. The child can see out when made to sit in a playpen.
Usually playpens have a higher wall than the height of the child. This will prevent climbing injuries happening to children. Most categories of playpens have detachable lids, though various newer designs are coming in.
The main intension of using playpens is to confine children to a particular place safely otherwise they might wander about restlessly. This wandering might cause them to hurt their body parts. Usually parents make use of playpens when they are occupied with some chores and can’t give due attention to their kid. Children also enjoy being in playpens and will love the comfort there. They can choose the place as the best place for various activities.
Now more and more varieties are introduced in playpens. Various new designs and models are coming in but while choosing a playpen for the kid, parents need to be extremely careful. They have to ensure the security of the kid more than anything else. This has to be the prime area of concern while choosing a playpen.
