What are water tanks?
Water tanks were there since man became civilized. They are storage equipments for storing water for various purposes related to human life. The purpose of storing water might vary ranging from drinking purposes to irrigation to suppressing fire and various manufacturing purposes. Even when various modern techniques replaced the olden forms of water tanks, they continue to be in use and are of great help to human beings.
Water tanks are usually made of various materials. The general type of water tanks are made of plastic, polyethylene and fiber glass. There are water tanks of concrete and steel as well. Those immovable water tanks made of earth looks more like a pond, yet is referred to as water tanks.
The water tanks use various chemical materials in the manufacturing process. The water and various chemicals used for the construction of water tanks has to be in set and mixed properly and the chemical that helps in this process of retention is FDA and NSF polyethylene. This is most commonly seen in chemical water tanks. Carbon steel is used in the manufacture of the ground water tanks. They can be used for string large quantity of water by receiving water for storage from a well or pond.
Water tanks must not harm the purity of the water stored in it. Water can be affected by a large number of negative elements including bacteria and fungi. Water tanks must have facilities for preventing against this. They can be of varying sizes and shapes. The size generally is determined by the purpose for which water tanks are generally used. Different international standards evaluate the quality of water tanks and assure that, they are not bringing any damage to water and indirectly to life in the surroundings.
